Sacraments
First Communion
What is First Communion?
First Communion is a very special moment in the life of a Catholic, for it is the first time we receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Through this sacrament, children grow in their friendship with Christ, strengthen their faith, and discover God’s love present in the life of the Church.
Preparation
Our parish offers a faith formation program to help children prepare to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation (Confession) and First Communion.
The programs include:
- Children ages 7 to 13 preparing for First Communion.
- Unbaptized children and teens ages 7 to 17, who prepare to receive Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation through the OCIC process (Order of Christian Initiation of Children).
- We also have a program for children with special needs.
Classes are offered in Spanish and in English.
For requirements, schedules and registration, please contact the Catechesis Office (CCD).
