Reconciliation or Confession
What is Reconciliation?
The Sacrament of Reconciliation, also known as Confession, is a personal encounter with the love and mercy of God. Through this sacrament we receive forgiveness for our sins, we are reconciled with God and with the Church, and we find the grace to begin again with a renewed heart.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee. I detest all my sins because of the just punishment they deserve, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. With Thy grace, I firmly resolve to sin no more, to do penance, and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.
